MW-R8B / MW-R8G

MW-R8B / MW-R8G are RFID card reader with support of MIFARE® Classic, Plus, Ultralight C, DESFire, ICODE® SLI, HID iCLASS (CSN only) family cards and transponders, working on frequency of 13,56MHz. Reader is adapted to work only on metal surfaces.



MW-R8B / MW-R8G RFID card readers have RS232(TTL), RS485, 1-Wire®, WIEGAND, CAN interfaces, built-in antenna, buzzer, touch button and programmable LED RGB diode. MW Series readers have also two inputs and one output of any purpose. Reader in RS232/RS485 interface mode works with the OSDP (the latest standard with data transmission encryption, described in more detail in the article), Modbus RTU or Netronix transmission protocols.

MW-R8 readers comes in two colors:

  • MW-R8G - gray
  • MW-R8B - black

MIFARE® Classic, Plus, Ultralight C, DESFire RFID reader

Thanks to the support of MIFARE® transponders of the DESFire EV1 standard, MW series of RFID readers are adapted to work in systems requiring secure identity authentication based on strong encryption with DES and AES128 keys, and thanks to the backward compatibility of the DESFire standard, they are also able to support applications using EV2 technology and the latest EV3 .

OSDP support

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) is an access control application communication standard developed by the Security Industry Association (SIA) to improve the interoperability of access control products and their security.

SIA encourages the widespread adoption of this standard, which is already widely used by many leading manufacturers of access control devices. OSDP is recommended to be implemented for any access control installations that require a high degree of security and / or will be used in government facilities. The OSDP standard is especially valuable for government applications as it meets federal access control requirements such as PKI for FICAM.

MODBUS RTU support

Netronix RFID readers support the MODBUS RTU communication protocol. This extremely popular and widespread communication protocol was originally developed by Modicon in 1979, later acquired by Schneider Automation. MODBUS is widely used in many industrial automation applications, and since 2004 it has become a free and open protocol, steadily gaining in popularity, thanks to the simplicity and flexibility of its architecture.

Aesthetic design, easy installation and maintenance

The RFID reader Netronix MW-R8B / MW-R8G will work not only where typical concrete wall mounting is possible, but also on metal surfaces of lockers, elevators or so-called turnstiles.

The small, minimalistic design of the RFID proximity reader, available in two colors, will match the aesthetic requirements of any room.
