NXP's MIFARE® is the best-recognized standard in the world, known for its wide range of products for non-contact RFID contactless communication in the high frequency band 13.56MHz up to a read / write distance of 10cm (4 inches). The MIFARE® Ultralight family of products currently consists of three models that provide system integrators with maximum flexibility to create complete system solutions such as time, zone or single tickets. Integrators can take advantage of the benefits of one-time tickets by properly using one-time OTP (One-Time-Programmable) programming memory in combination with a unique ISO identifier (UID) on a secure infrastructure.
Tickets based on the NXP MIFARE® Ultralight solution are ideal for low-budget, high-volume applications, such as public transport, loyalty cards or events, serving as an excellent replacement for magnetic stripe or barcode solutions, favoring the tendency to upgrade entire systems into solutions purely contactless. The introduction of contactless solutions based on MIFARE® Ultralight leads to reduced installation and system maintenance costs. In addition, MIFARE® Ultralight products can be easily integrated into existing systems.
MIFARE® Classic EV1
The MIFARE® Classic EV1 standard represents the highest evolution of the MIFARE® Classic family of products available on the market since 1997. The EV1 standard is available in 1K and 4K memory versions, supporting the requirements of various applications.
MIFARE® Classic EV1 provides excellent ESD resistance for easy handling of integrated circuit assembly during card production, best-in-class RF performance for optimized transactions, and allows for more flexible antenna designs.
The MIFARE® Plus standard provides AES security in intelligent contactless contactless card applications, offering the benefits of seamlessly upgrading existing installations and services based on the MIFARE® Classic solution with minimal effort. This leads to the possibility of offering modern cards, backwards compatible with MIFARE® Classic, in existing security systems environments after they have been properly modernized. After upgrading security, MIFARE® Plus uses AES encryption to authenticate and encrypt data integrity.
The main features of the DESFire standard are specified in its name, where DES refers to the use of the DES, 2K3DES, 3K3DES and AES hardware cryptographic engine to secure data transmission, while "Fire" is an acronym for "Fast, Innovative, Reliable, and Enhanced ", i.e. fast, innovative, reliable and optimized operation of RFID proximity applications.
The MIFARE® DESFire family consists of the MIFARE® DESFire EV1 and EV2 products, which are ideal for building reliable, scalable and interoperable smart contactless card solutions. This standard is addressed to many intelligent applications, including in identity identification, access control, customer loyalty, micro-payment applications as well as in transport systems. The MIFARE® DESFire standard is fully compliant with the requirements of fast and very secure data transmission, has flexible memory organization and is compatible with existing RFID proximity card infrastructures.
